Mario 64 or Mario Galaxy. They're both really damn good. ;_; Mario Galaxy had better controls and level designs, but lacked a certain charm that 64 had, and was a bit linear and the free roam levels weren't as big as 64's. The music was definitely better, but some of it wasn't as memorible as 64's tracks. I prefer the happy energetic ice-world music from 64 than the slow real-time orchestra ice music from Galaxy. But 64's controls were often unforgiving and definitely not as good as Galaxy's. They were slippery and the N64 and VC controllers definitely aren't that great for playing Mario 64. That said, dispite the fact that some levels were designed funky and there were alot of give away stars (i.e. talking to a toad and him just handing you the star), there were things I missed from Mario 64 to Mario Galaxy. Galaxy lacked a real cave level like Mario 64's, and it's only snow world wasn't as happy as Mario 64's.
In the end, both are fantastic games, but I really can't decide which on I like best. ;_;
