Gamemaker 6 because 5.3 was better rolleyes.gif. Especially the fact that they removed the data files folder & functions and the exclusive mode pissed me off... and 5.1 was the best (well for the free version anyway). You didn't even need to be registered to use dlls.

A new beta is out, click on the banner for more infomations.

An attempt to recreate mario bros 3's engine perfectly with some values taken directly from the rom and it is open source

Give it a try, even if it's open source, the levels are original and fun..

I've started a new topic because the other one died of inactivity. Don't let this one die.

Gameplay Video
Here's the last video, with the original 1-1 level and three new levels

Game Maker 7, not because "OMG YO-YO GAEMS TAEK IDEAS WTF", but because the filesizes are huge and the load speeed. Is. ****ing. Long.

GM6.1 is the way to go for non-Vistites.

Falcon Punch is the result of the Sun heating fists. It drives the Blue Falcon. Heating causes destruction of water into the pain, where it then hurts, creating rain. Rain creates flowing water in tears, which can then be converted into other forms through more pain.

Ahaha, same thing happened to me

Last night, actually. I was tired and I read it as "Which program of creating games do you prefer" and I voted for MMF2 :x

I have to say I'm not exactly a huge fan of gamemaker.

No problems with the program itself, but I find learning a language extremely tedious.

It would do us all alot better just to learn C basic or something, but I don't see programming as a future career so I'll just have more fun messing in MMF2 :>

MFGG.net has a program that lets you convert GM6 games to Vista-compatible formats

I prefer to use TGF and Multimedia Fusion... it's easier for me than Game Maker...
anyway, many games made at these platforms are neat, as Toad Strikes Back ^^

For me, I don't prefer Game Maker...

GM 7 generally sucks. The load times are horrendously long, the files become huge-ass. Yoyo Games' logo is RIGHT THERE and they piss me off. IT's not 6.2.
