I've been replaying it, for two reasons: to remedy the winter blues, and to hold me over until I eventually get Galaxy.

I currently have access to Bianco Hills, Ricco Harbour, and Gelato Beach, and I'm trying to fully complete Bianco Hills before going further.

I must say, the water effects are ****ing divine. And there's lots of little details one easily misses.

For instance, you know that trio of bells in Bianco Hills? Spray it. You'll get an extra life.

And once in a while, you can see planes waaaaay up in the sky.

So, let's talk about this underrated gem.

Meh. I've defeated the final boss and I never cared about getting all Shine Sprites.
I didn't like the game much, despite the graphics. I rather have a good game with bad graphics than a bad game with good graphics.
Spoilers:
Bowser tells Bowser Jr. that Peach isn't his mother in the end. EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT'S A TOTAL LIE!!! And I'm pretty surprised that that came out of Bowser's mouth...

Then may I ask why you even bothered posting in this topic?

That counts as spam, afaik.

Bowser Jr. knew it by that time and Bowser HIMSELF was actually frightened! But Jr. decided he still hated Mario and not Pa!

Oh this is interesting because I just erased my game for a restart recently. But I'm not as far as you are, not yet. I can't do much without getting a "Disc cannot be read" error, which sucks.

And I'd swim in that water.

I got 100% completion once and few months back got the mood to start a new game and already got all of the 96 regular shines. Now I need to get few of the missing blue coins, trade them in and I'll get 100% completion again.

I prefer this over 64 one, because of FLUDD and Yoshi. It's fun to toy around with FLUDD's rocket and turbo nozzles and Yoshi in 3D is epic win.

Thing is though, Galaxy's water's better.

But yeah I've got nothing against Sunshine whatsoever really, although I suppose it could have done with some more level variations towards the end - the whole tropical thing gets a bit dull after a few levels.

I didn't like it that much. The platforming levels were fun (But hard) and there were 1 or 2 levels I really liked, but that's about it. Mario 64 and Mario Galaxy are much better.

I didn't like it.

It just didn't have that Mario atmosphere from the other games...

I absolutely loved Super Mario Sunshine. Probably because I have a deep love of tropical locations and steel drums. It wasn't exactly the same as Super Mario 64, but it was still extremely awesome.

I also loved the other little islands that showed up on the map in the intro. I wish there was a sequel (Wii controls, anybody?) just so I could visit those other islands. (That crab one looks like it could be awesome...)

No, you're not. I liked SMS, and it even had a rideable Yoshi in a 3D environment. The only downside is that some enemies can be irritating IMO.

And I almost got 100% completion before my memory card crashed last year. sad.gif

You are not! I wish there would be a sequel, which is playing on an similar island.
And while I don't have the Wii I try to get all shines.
