The afterlife

I believe that if you are a christian and have accepted God than you in turn will be aaccepted into heaven where you will reign with all the other christians in eternal bliss, but if you do not accept God as Lord then you go to hell.

I'm a baptist christian. There is a heaven, and it is good and a wonderful paradise. There is also a hell, and it is eternal torture. which will you choose?

The chair, book and radio. We've been over this!

I'm afraid its like this.

I hope I can stay forever in heaven and have some fun^^
(the bible says there is no hell)
I also don't want to get born again because I like who I am now.

I seriously wonder how people can live so happily knowing there could be virtually nothing when you die

well it wouldn't matter to me in the end since i'd be dead and unconscious anyway

but yeah i believe that once you're dead, that's it... though i don't discount the idea of something similar (ie not the same) as reincarnation... but i'm not even going to attempt to explain how this idea works

I believe in the afterlife, I believe in heaven and stuff, but it's probrably NOTHING like we envision it (It's easy to picture heaven being in the clouds, or being like a planet like our own, like Earth, but we literally cannot comprehend or even picture what it could be like on a dimensional level)

I've read a lot of near-death experiences, (theres actually a website full of them) and they usually confirm jesus and god, but the descriptions of the afterlife reflect the "spiritual growth" thing, where each life you live you learn spiritual lessons and grow spiritually, so you'd be reincarnating until you reached a high enough spiritual level to stay in heaven,

I've read some things before though that say you will merge with god, which sounds nice but it's hard to understand, I don't know if I would want to become god or lose my own sense of self I can't even understand what it'd be like but it is supposed to be the best thing in the world


it's easier for me to just not think about it too much, I think the concept of a simple heaven is easier to understand for me

I really hope I don't insult anyone or their religion with the way I say some things here, but this is my honest to goodness view, or perhaps lack of a clear one, on this topic, one I actually try and keep from my somewhat religious parents. >_>

To be honest, I have unsettled issues with the concept of Heaven and Hell, I fear the idea of a lack of one, as not existing for eternity is generally something I'm deathly afraid of, pun not intended. However, I also worry that because of fears like that, if there is a Heaven/Hell, then I wouldn't go to Heaven due to the questioning.

I also dislike the concept some interpretations have that seem to basically say if you don't believe in X religion then no matter how good you are you're going to Hell and suffer for eternity for not being raised the right way, or even if you do believe perfectly, if you don't do X(get baptized or other such things) then you go to Hell anyway.

One last thing I have worries about, which would coincide with the "unsure about things, so I'd end up going to Hell anyway" bit, is that if Heaven was to be one of those "perfect" paradises where you stay and worship God for all eternity, wouldn't that equate to a lack of a free will that basically makes you human on Earth anyway? Similar to a fear of complete memory loss or non-existence it basically wouldn't be you in Heaven anyway.

I have issues.

As much as I'd like to have an eternal happy place with all my favorite people, we're all just gonna rot in the ground.

When people ask me "Are you going to heaven or hell?" I say, neither, I'm going to a hole...

I've heard they tell no tales as well.

When people ask me "Are you going to heaven or hell?" I say "Actually I am going to rebirth into another dimension where I shall continue my work serving the Swan by patching holes in time and dimensions for a greater future for all of Existance"

And then they will tell me that I spelled existence wrong, and I'll punch them in the face and they'll go "Ok you're going to hell" and I'll be like "ladies first *****" and punch them in the face again
