From the comments in the mfa:

QUOTE
Originally concieved as an engine strictly for a level editor. Still may go towards that goal, but probably not. I will try to comment on things a little bit but for the most part you are on your own.

It only has basic features implemented, but it could be used as a learning tool for those of you more interested in understanding how Multimedia Fusion 2 works. I wish I could include an exe for you guys to test out, but I lack the full version of MMF2 right now (I'm working off the demo, which lets you save mfas but not build exes).

Haha, with a post like this, I don't expect anybody to actually use it, now!

It's provided as-is. I'm pretty terrible at being a teacher, so... uh. If you don't know how something works, just... uh. Try to figure it out on your own! biggrin.gif

I can't play it right now, but if I remember correctly, you made blue twilight DX, which means has to be good.

I think my Fusion 2 is screwed because he keeps falling through the floor (and I immediately checked to see if Disable When Far Away was on, and it's not for any player objects)

Hey, Blaze, you could improve your engines a lot if you used loops, it's a lot more accurate for collisions.

Did you... try the mfa at all?

Because, uh:

I'm Sorry, mario was landing at different depths through the floor quite a few times so it looked as if you didn't he also shakes when you walk into an object...They are usually problems of not using fast loops.

edit: I guess it's because you didn't check for overlapping properly during the loops. If you check the collisions during the loops you won't end up with a stuttering effect against walls because it'll check before the image updates. I might make a tutorial for this soon =)

if you move the "Basic Mario Physics" group above the "Start of the Game" one, that keeps the camera from shaking when Mario does (the reason for this is because you had some of your positioning events out of order; since the detectors' and mario's positions are based off "Player Object", its positioning events need to come before the ones for the other objects [in your original engine, its positioning events came after the others, so if you unhid the hidden objects, you'd see that they lagged behind])

as stated, this only fixes the camera... easy bug to overlook

oh and the reason mario shakes is because he's trying to change his angle, and you have no implementation to prevent that if he's running against a wall

still has the "moonslide" bug

I'm over it. :P I play all my fangames primarily with a gamepad, so holding down both left and right at the same time isn't possible (which means I rarely bother to check for it).
