if you people give me one or two word responses i will be most displeased

if some of the melodies sound familiar, it may be because i have a tendency to steal borrow parts (sometimes very extensively) from songs that i enjoy

criticism go

EDIT: familiar not similar

Awesome, yet another musician.

Good works, but allow me to mention some things about them.

The first song is good, all of it works together. The problem is the bass. It just seems to be going wherever it likes, it's not actually assisting the song itself. It also sounds like it goes out of tune with the rest of the notes. Try keeping it in the same key signature, it's supposed to so that it can help hold the foundation of the song. You can ocassionally go out of the key signature for the melody and harmony, but not the bass.

The second song, I'm not so impressed with. You've got two good melodies going here... that don't work together. On their own, they're great. But the main synth is not working with the bells. Again, it's sort of like the bass in the previous song, one of the instruments is seeming to go wherever it wants to.

Other than those two aspects, awesome! Maybe you could work more on the dynamics of volume and the such. Good to know we have another artist on board!

Sounds like you'll be needing to view some tutorials.

By the time you work with the utility for about 3 years or so, you'll realize that there's not enough buttons on the program, and you'll go and find more programs to use in conjunction with it. It happened to me.

probably

on the subject of the first one, whereas i feel that it feels sorta too tinny even with the pitch turned down, i really don't feel like just making the bass play the same thing as the main melody so hmm

yeah whatever i'll take a look at it later

also on the topic of composing; i know most of the music theory that's generally used, but any helpful sites or such on composing would be nice

No, no, you don't need the bass playing the same as the melody. In fact, that should rarely be happening. But you need some consistencies in how the bass is played, and the bass should also be helping along the song, rather than be playing against it.

and uh, i have no idea, since i learned my composing from offline classes in school and extra classes
