This engine looks good from what I can see. But yeah, you really need to change the graphics. I could help you out with sprites if you want.

Work on level design and get rid of some of the clashing sprites (maybe keep the Mario sprites and use Yoshi's Island styled other stuff?). But otherwise good luck.

Zero Kirby - I'll get some good sprites, if its the last thing i do!(Which I hope its not)
Spritey Man- That would be great, if you don't mind.
Kyle - Thats kind of just a test-engine area, levels will be better though.
JesseRoo - I'm aiming towards custom graphics mostly, but thanks.

Anywho, I'm getting the first available star ready, (It won't be that big bomb-omb guy) it'll just be collect all red coins for now, so...

The bomb-ombs blow up when they hit you, so its best to just avoid them. The mountain is still in progress, so that won't be the final one.
And all those screenshots show him standing still, but I assure you there are animations.

The tree that you climb on... I want the original from the 64, only not as detailed to fit the style of Mario.
Perhaps you can make a 16x16 tiles set for the grass area, metal area and mountain?
The style of the goomba right now is the 16 bit SMB3 goomba, but I don't like that. Please make a side-view goomba that would fit the style, and maybe even a bomb-omb.

PowerUp made the Mario Sprites (Pesky Plumber Style).
And it may be easy to you, but for me its really hard since I really can't sprite well.

Hmm.... Thats very nice, but I think some of the graphics will still have to be done by you.
And I don't think i'll change the Mario until I find another sheet with backflipping, running, crouching, punching, ground-pounding, idling, jump-thrusting, sliding, getting a star, dying, and all other sprites i need (Whoah, just realised how much I need!)

Normal gold coins give you 1 health, red coins give you 2.
Most enemies only hurt you 1 health, but things like bomb-omb explosions and large falls can hurt you 2 or more.
Keep your eye on it!
Once it reaches zero, one life is taken away.
If you don't have any more lives, you get game over and have to start off from where you last saved.
