The video is here!
It demonstartes the basic engine with running, punching, health bar, jumping, backflipping, attacking, cannons and some more. Its not every feature I have though, so don't think this is it! SO I REFUSE TO RELEASE THE DEMO YET!
Sorry about the volume, Turn it all the way up and put your ears right next to the speaker and you might hear some of it...

Looks awesome, I have a few complaints though.

I think the health thing should be centered (you should try to imitate the sm64 HUD). Also, maybe make the cannons pipe-ish so you have to press down while on them to go inside. It would just look cleaner. You could also benefit from making the level taller (so the camera can go up too). Finally, a traditional crouching pose would be nice. Everything else is good from what I can see.

Anyway, I'll have some sprites ready by the end of the day.

If you're looking to be confused, make word filters changing all vowels to a certain letter (I suggest to a vowel), all for read-only, and loose. For example, with all vowels turned to "i"...

He dosnt go that fast in the real game, it must have something to do with hypercam. And thank you.
Also, like shown in 00:57 certain things that wern't in Sm64 will be in this game (Like shooting bomb-ombs out of a cannon to get a red coin). Maybe even extra stars will be in it.

Im working on the HUD right now.
I moved the Life Bar to the middle, and next to it is what keeps track of your stars.
Added ground pound which breaks blocks easily.
Made it so if you fall far you get hurt.
Added a beta Peaches Castle with the door that leads to the Battlefield.
Made first star which you get by collecting all 8 red coins.
Tomorrow I will post a new video showing these updates and more. In the mean time, give me some suggestions on what to add.

About the video, it's much too quiet.

Also, the way the cannons work and are controlled don't really clinch it for me.

Plus you never shot Bob-Ombs out of a cannon in SM64.

I said thr would be things that wern't from sm64 also.
Oh, and those sprites ROCK. I'll add them as soon as I can!
And i'll adjust th gravity levl, I think he goes to far also.

How does the Goomba animate?

Also, that castle looks really stretched. Maybe you could use the original size?

It animates very smoothyl, plus it fits the style of Mario.
And thanks for the extra tiles for the island, keep them coming (Both sprites and for the others comments)

Just out of curiosity, are you using Game Maker? If so, make the tiles snap to 16x16 px because the tiles look misaligned in places.
