Update: Demo! Yay! I am in a generous mood, so I've put up the demo. It's in production for quite a while, so don't be surprised to see lots of content. Press F1 for help, instructions, story and credits. The file is attached to the first post. As for music, each stage has their own music from the original game. The tunes are all midi, though, but I've searched through VGMusic for the finest. I must also note that I use the Lite version of Game Maker 7. In case you are wondering who or what 'Maciated' is (author of the game), it's my game design group (so far 2 members, including me and my best friend Cyber Maroon). My logo is a mace with a hungry look in his eyes Anyways, enjoy the demo.

Did I mention you can switch from Normal to Hard, from Hard to Practice and from Practice back to Normal? There's an icon somewhere in the top left saying Normal. Once you click it, you'll switch to Hard etc. The Dialogue button nect to ut turns dialogues on or off, though there are no dialogues at the beginning.
As for on-foot AIs, I have to figure out that, it's really hard. If I make them, though, they will be limited to appear only in a few (or maybe just one) stages.
I must also tell you that the CPU opponent isn't just flying at a constant speed, just like in Sonic R GM. When you're behind, the CPU will slow down a bit and will go back to full speed when you're in the lead.
My advice to complete the stages is to practice well on them and select a character best fit for them (instead of picking just the fastest one).
Also, keep your eyes open for paths that lead outside of the view.

Ah, that explains it all - as for the demo, awesome job so far, man! I still need practice to get used to the courses overall. o_O
I had a fangame idea just like this (but Mario series related, of course)! :P But I have yet to do an engine once I get to that said project. :P
