Thats right, a tip for all you fangamers out their. Some of us are bored with the koopalings and boom boom and such. Petey Pirhana and King bob-omb are fine if you execute them correctly. What we people that play fangames want boss battle that we are waiting for! I played new super mario 1 2 and 3 and thought, man those boss battle were pretty likly to show up in this world. Try to find a boss that doesn't appear often in games or at least make awesome challenging epic ones to look forward to when we are in the level. I just thought to make this topic since I am working on one right now. Who agree's with me? Aren't you dissapointed with the face you thought there was an awesome boss battle in this polished fangame and it turns out to be this smolding pile of crap? And don't make the bosses frusterating, thats a no no.

Lesser ones are ok, but the final one has to be big

Petey Piranha and king bobomb? Well they don't really fit in all games.

Giant normal enemies would work as long as they are more than just jupming on them.

If I knew how to make fangames, I think my absolute favorite part would be making the boss battles and programming enemy AI. I'd probably even make a game that consisted of nothing but back-to-back boss battles.


But yeah, I'd love to see some new boss battles. :3

I have been working on those drawings day and night that nobody seems to care about or comment them in my topic about them.

I like the boss battles where they look unique and unexpected and the attacks and the music is marvelous.

Hmm... that's gonna be a challenge for me -- because in one of my fangame ideas for example -- this may sound crazy, but I have the Slege Bros. as one of the bosses (obviously NOT an end-game boss, mind you). Would that be acceptable...?

The most awesome boss battles are the ones that are extremely simply designed, yet
cleverly done. Think of the frog boss in YI, it had by far the simplest design of all the
bosses, yet it was still the most awesome.

I have Tatanga as a boss for my sole Mario fan-game.
Seriously, the guy needs more attention (so does Wart, but that's just in official Nintendo games).
I have about 18-19 levels in my fan-game, each one of them with a boss at the end (or at the beginning in case of a chase level). Keeping it diverse is pretty hard.

In a game I'm working on, there is a castle with 4 "King Thwomps" which are giant gold thwomps that you have to get past, not really a battle but hey, at least it's a boss(bosses really) of some kind.

I've decided to use modern-day bosses (Goomboss, Petey Piranha, King Boo, Birdo, etc.). And I might be able to add Kammy and Bowser's Clown Copter.
