First of all, to avoid spoilers and basically releasing every single information about the games to everyone, I've made two sub-forums in the Fangame Discussion, that can only be viewed and posted in by members that were on the Individual Roles list. If I have missed you, please PM me.

1. The general topics are going to be in the Mario Bros. team board. I do not want to make a third forum for general stuff, and I figured the best board to put it in is the one that deals with what I primarily use, the Clickteam product, so that I may view the general stuff as I see fit. This does not merit nor depreciate Game Maker users, nor does it mean that I see Clickteam products as better. It just had to go in one forum or the other, and I just used the one I work with the majority of the time. If you are a Game Maker user, please direct general topics there. Otherwise, for items pertaining to Game Maker, leave it in the Wario Bros. team board.

2. Please also name your topics accordingly so that nothing is revealed in the topic name. After all, on the main forum page, people can see the names of topics that have had the latest replies.

why don't the boards do that Protected Forum thing

because that requires me to figure out how to do that

EDIT: Actually, I believe that was only applicable to forums that had passwords.

Or I could be wrong and it could still show up as "Protected Forum" or just not show up at all for the rest of the members.

Sweet, this is a better place for them.

Perhaps make another forum for both, where we can talk about things such as art, music, and other things not related to a specific program?

Already addressed this in the first post.

I came up with the Super Paper Mario gameplay idea in the first place now I don't even get into the topics about it. Man, I wish I had signed up.

Remember when I suggested the project shouldn't be sign-up based? This is why. Now it's changed from "Community Project" to "Those who can be bothered to PM Yoshiman Project" wink.gif

Either way, seems a bit early to me. Last time I saw it nothing had been made, so it's a bit difficult to spoil anything.

EDIT: oh wait I can see the sub-forums now asdghjk

Yeah, he's got a point it's not a community project if the rest of the community can't at least watch the goings-ons! Isn't there anyway to make it so other people can just view but not actually post in the CFP bits?

If I allowed people to view, I would have kept the sub-forum as it was.

But now here's the dilemma - we open it to the community... they pretty much know every single thing about it, how it was developed, the story, the tricks, the bonuses/unlockables, the levels, the gameplay, every single thing you could think of. So what's their incentive to play the game?

Well, of course it is.

Otherwise we wouldn't be making it.

EDIT: Been talking with Shadowman and stuff. Apparently he informs me that a lot of people would still play the game, even if every single last detail about the entire game is readily available for them instantaneously. However, I don't want a bunch of random people coming in shouting out random suggestions all the time, so I'll be making them readable for everyone.

I don't like that a community project is hidden from the community.

It kind of like defeats the purpose!

The incentive to play the game is that the entire community worked hard on it. I play my own minigames from time to time. Despite knowing how it works and such.

Maybe our goal should be to appeal to more than just our community. There are many Mario fan sites out there with many more Mario fans on them. Perhaps this is how we reach out to them.
