I have the same problem with mario, somethings that I have problems with that you seem to have to.

1.Getting the head angle and body angle the same.
2.The stache, its hard to get it the perfect size.
3.Mario's height.
4.Shoes
5.Messy pallete

Get to work on those things, and your mario will be much better.
