powerups., How should they work.

Okey we do not have a definite list of powerups yet.

So that is what I hope this topic can help decide.

Post ideas and Coment on how they would work.

My hopes are that we could use a lot of the classic powerus, and at the same time, be original.

Here is my list of what i thin should be in the game, and how it should work.

Fire flower. Duh, It should work like the classic one.

Ice flower. With a twist. This time you throw ice balls and they freeze enemies and water into platforms.

Starman. Duh. Only this time you can run faster, jump higher, and hover temporaraly, Like peach in smb2.

it also needs to use some of rapid the hedgehos seet ideas.

I have more but I am saving them.

I don't believe we should be focusing on these quite yet, as we still don't have an engine or even any knowledge of how this game will play out with levels.

Metal cap-You turn into metal ???????. Exactly the same as Starman exept you're slow, you jump low and you run at the bottom of water levels.

Mushroom: It should give added effects.

Key: Suppose the key clould be used as a weppon, just like Kingdom Hearts.

Racoon Leaf: Doesn't let you fly, instead, it lets you crawl and jump farther.

Banzai Bill: Instead of a weppon, should it be like, a transport system?

Super Mushroom-Red-turns you into super mario
1 up Mushroom-Green-Gives you extra life
Poison Mushroom-Purple-damages you
Rich Mushroom-Gold-gives you 50 coins.
Metal Mushroom-Silver-Turns you into metal mari
Invisible Mushroom-Clear-Turns you into vanish mario
Mega Mushroom-Turns you into giant mario.
Mini mushroom-turns you into mini mario.
Old Mushromm-Orange-Instead of eating these, you kick them at enemies.
Spicy Mushroom-Shiny Red, Orange spots-Turns you into fire mario.

STFU NOOBS- Lets you turn into a mod to ban all the noobs. Okay, just kiddin' here.

Maybe a Power Flower like in Super Mario 64 DS that gives different powers to all the different characters.

I think Boo Mushrooms could be interesting to use--they were underused in Galaxy and could translate well to 2D.

Wabooigi would be hilarious, too, come on.

- Law suit: When the action button is pressed near an enemy / pit, text appears it automatically does something to the enemy, destroying the creature or if it's a pit, it would create a bridge... It would be cool for secrets and the sort.

- Terror Mask: You get really buff and can jump higher and run faster, along with maybe a punch or a kick like in the first/second Splatterhouse. You could maybe slide too (Megaman fashion so it isn't difficult to preform).

- Big Head's Mask (Or the Mask's Mask, whatever): You can spin like Crash Bandicoot or Taz... Don't really know what other features, because it might be too complex, maybe.

Oh! And another idea. You can store power-ups in your house!

Okay you are coming up with some of the WORST ideas I have ever seen. You suggested to have Death as a boss in the enemies topic, now these ridiculous powerups?

Speed Mushroom- You move twice normal speed and everybody else's speed is halfed.

Drill Suit- Able to dig in the ground like a mole.

Paper Mode- Able to turn into Paper Airplane, Roll into tube, turn sideways and become paper boat.

SMASH Power- Able to use fighting moves.

Don't bump.

Why not? It's still valid discussion.

I say as Dj Yoshiman We should not work with these yet.
