I started off wanting to make a simple 2-color Mario game, but the sprite I made 1-bit ended up looking really evil and futuristic, so thus I started to make a more evil and futuristic Mario game. Everything in this game will be 2 colors, one of them probably being white.
Basically, I made this engine to test my weapons system, which is different from the block-hitting norm. Basically, at the start of each level, you choose what powerup to use for that level. When you hit blocks, you get ammo for that weapon. The only weapons programmed right now are the Fire Flower, Starman, and Mushroom (which lets you jump on enemies), but I can see things like the Tanooki Suit or Cape being in later demos.
Instead of me describing this game in more detail and causing nobody to download it, just play the game and see for yourself. Space uses your current suit's special ability, control creates more goombas, and backspace brings you back to the select screen.
