I'm beginning to notice something with these Pixar movies. Every time I see and early teaser for the movie, I watch it and say, "This looks incredibly dumb, what are they thinking?" As the movie gets closer to opening, I begin to gain more and more interest, and when I actually see it I thouroughly enjoy it. Take Pixar's next big film, Cars, which I saw a preview of at The Incredibles. It looks like a total crap kiddie movie and that Pixar has run out of good ideas. But given the trend of Monsters, Inc, Finding Nemo, and now The Incredibles, I'll probably love it. =P
Another note about The Incredibles/Pixar: If Disney put even half as much effort into character and storyline as Pixar does, they might not be shutting down their hand-drawn animation development. If their new CG movies are just going to be the same as their last few "masterpieces of animation" only with computer graphics, they're sure to fail. I'm sure I and many others would have loved The Incredibles whether or not it was computer animated, something that Disney hasn't seemed to realize.

| QUOTE (FanGuy @ Nov 8 2004, 10:49 PM) | Hey, when you went to the movie, did it have that AWFUL short cartoon at the beginning with the sheep that got sheared? Bleah... give me For The Birds (the hilarious short opener to Monsters, Inc) any day, not this Disney-esque sugar and spice crap. |
Oh come on now Fanguy.
Granted, it wasn't the more adult of the animated shorts that they've done (And why on earth they attached it to such an adult pixar film, is beyond me), but you can't honestly say that it was AWFUL can you?
It was a fun little short, regardless of how childish it was, and the animation was quite nice to watch. And come on. You know that jackalope kicked ass, man.
however, yes. For the birds, Gerald's Game, and that snowman-snowglobe short, were all much better. But this one wasn't BAD, it was just a lot more geared toward kids.
@MG: Funny. I quite enjoyed the previews I saw. Spongebob. Cars. And of course, that FRIGGEN AWESOME trailer for Chicken Little.
