If you have played these games in the corresponding order, the story will make some sense, once you have finished this game, as it is a direct sequel to Super Mario GS: The Ogicha Attack, which replaced the original, "Super Mario GS 2: The Dark Row":

You mean the one in World 4? When the Phanto swing by you, time your explosions, to when he comes into the view 7 times. You know what a phanto is, right?
