The problem is that you can't sprite NSMB styled sprites, because in fact, they are 3D models

Ignoring him would be the same as ignoring constructive criticisms, which isn't a good sign for a beginning spriter.

Black Squirrel is wise dude and knows what he's talking about.

The funny thing is, Submit-It is not supposed to be a forum for request topics

I beg to differ, I liked his sprites, especially the shading of the octopus, evem though it could use more contrast, and less pillow shading.

Even if Nintendo, actually used 3-D models, I am sure someone COULD sprite "3-D" on Paint if they had the skills and patience.

Are you using a 3D program? Because the penguin really looks like it.

they are 3d models except from the magikoopa and toadie because nsmb is made up of 3d models also black squirrel did give good advice even if i dont understand some of it so dont '' diss '' him
also this isnt a request topic that was an accident as im relatively new
and anyways i thought they fit the style pretty well though i must admit there are too many colours

That's impossible

To attempt to "sprite 3-D" would make the end result pillow shaded and ugly

Not really. Have you some of those videos out there of using paint? They are amazing and look very realistic. You CAN sprite 3d in paint, but will alot of skill and paitence. (And time).

Sprites and 3D Models are opposites. Sprites are always 2D, 3D Models are... Well, 3D. There is no such thing as making something 3D in paint. Perhaps you can make it look 3D, but Paint is not a Model Making program, it's a picture editing program.
Anyway, I don't see these "sprites" as being very useful. Even though they'd be considered renders, I don't find them to be in good quality, and none of them looks like they could have been from NSMB.
In other words... Putting pictures of 3D models on a program like paint does not make them sprites.

I dont see why people are calling you a spriting god seeing as you most likely made this with some 3-d model tool.

They look ok-ish. Some look better then others.

Well obviously if you spent a ridiculous amount of time on it you could make it look 3D. I've seen it be done before.

The question is, with very few "sprites" to match, and the immense amount of time it would take to do, why bother? Simplistic 2D stuff looks just as good (if not better) and saves loads of time. You'd need to have some smexy pre-rendering program like what Rare probably used with Donkey Kong Country for it to really work.
