Don't say Battlefield 2 or 2142, because they're completely different and DICE is full of ****ups.

My question is, why are there so many FPS games nowadays, and why are they all so popular? I'm not the biggest fan of the genre, but when they are at least different, original, and fun, I can dig them.

But so many are so darn similar, graphics wise and gameplay wise!

*looks up BF1942, thinking it was a plane shooter*

What we need are more space shooting games like the first part of Episode III in Lego Star Wars: Complete.

I nearly cried in happiness.

EDIT: Forgot about StarFox Wii, hope it comes out.

Go buy it immediately. I need to pop mine in and see if people are still playing it online, because if not, that's a huge waste.

Unfortunately, FPS's are a lost art to me.

Without any sort of direct lock-on, they're really hard for me. I could barely beat Halo and the Bond games in later levels, using auto-aim.

With the direct lock-on (like Metroid Prime), they become too easy because then "haha you shall never leave my sights."

So I'll pass on this one.

Someone remind me to make a cel-shaded shooter when I start a business and it gets enough funds to make an official game.

I haven't played much (only the demo), I've heard a ton of complaints about DICE's engine. Mostly weird glitches where you appear to be on someone else's team, memory leaks, etc. That and I can't play it at very high settings. sad.gif

If and when I get a much better computer that can stand up to it, I might get it.

I actually bought it again (yeah, I lost my first one's CD code and it's pretty much pointless without online) 2 days ago since a WW2 Mod for it that I've been anticipating for a while was released.

I do dislike the ragdoll effects in it though

Whoa WW2 mod for BF2? Awesome. I love the one for Vietnam, so I just might have to get it.

You ever heard of the Forgotten Hope Mod for BF1942?

They just released 2, all they have is the Africa Campaign for now

Damn now I want to try BF2 again. sad.gif I'm not sure how the Middle Eastern setting could possibly match the open battlefields in BF1942, but maybe the China maps well.
