Speaking of I reallly need to update this.

Sorry it's been extremely busy this month. Probably the hardest month in high school.

For one Brawl came out. Second, I had to do Gradation tests, and three HUGE projects on top of that. Then, I'm still behind in art class.

ughhh 11th grade SUCKS SO MUCH.

Amazy Daiseys are loud and obnoxious, and that looks a HELL of a lot like sonic, though those moves are awesome!

After 1 long month of final exams, School is over and summer has begun. Looks like Mario Roots production is back in business. After my long break, I came back to MMF2, and surprisingly, fixed nearly every glitch/bug/annoyance that I couldn't before. The MarioRoot engine is nearly complete, so the making of the levels can now go on. There's only a few things that need to be done. The level-up system is turning out great.

As you can, Both Lily & Mario will level up differently.

Zomg, it's an instant kill doing 10 dmg. The damage you do to enemies is based off your AP)attack power - Enemies defense, and the damage you receive from enemies is based off your DP) defense power + enemies ATK power.

I've also finally finished fire lily, after brainstorming how to use her fireballs.
So let's try her fire flower out.

Ooo, As you can see, she does fire pillars instead of fireballs. However, they consume FP)Flower points.

I also added in to make her default move STUN enemies.

You can use this to your advantage, and switch to mario for power housing attacks.

Small thing

-Coins are important in this game. They aren't just for more lives or a high score. You use coins to buy items in town shops, so I suggest you get them. Also, yes im well aware your probably tired of seeing this same level, but now it has become the testing grounds.

Heh, You thought I gave up on Mario roots? Nope. Just school+ friends > Hobby game-making. Well anyway, that's about it for now.



--TIPS--
-If you are stumped on a bug/problem, take a break for awhile then come back. It gives you a fresh new mindset. This worked great for me.
- When you are play testing your game, take notepad out, and type down ANYTHING that goes wrong, so you will have a list of bugs/problems that you can easily go through once your done. This help me remember what to fix.

Why were you still alive at 0 hp?
The level looks good, but seems to have a little too many enemy's.
Is the game based of a sonic engine?

Yep it is. and I was still alive because I didnt set the new enemies to kill me yet, just take dmg.

the level overall is no where near complete though. you may be familiar with rages static ball engine, since i used that tutorial a bit

Haha yeah I was thinking maybe too many enemies, but the +6 ones only have 2 HP, and they dont really hurt you. it's more of the spyguys jumping out of the windows that do all the damage

Cant you make it so that it kills you automatically when you have 0 HP?

yeah but I needed mario to stay alive because I was testing some of the enemies. the video is just really to show the level though. even though it is an invasion, i think there are too many enemies

Im thinking it has something to do with the X scale on the flipping code. wow I'll have to fix that, thanks.

In regards to the latest video -- all I can say is that the said intro for Chapter 1-2 is way better than your last attempt. tongue.gif Great work!
