Pretty cool although it looks like the blocks are on the ground or very low IMO.

I'm pretty sure if they were on the ground they'd be lined up with the invisible isometric grid and that little end of the block on the far left wouldn't be sticking out!

But then again that's just me 8)

the blocks are meant to be in the ground, kind of like a road, or atleast thats what i think its supposed to be like, because think about it, why the hell would mario run on a bunch of bricks if he could walk next to them?

not too shabby

looks like it could do with some touch-ups though, but that depends on whether you're keeping the original colour rules.

might want to aim for something like that with the blocks. Then again they need lengthening since they aren't quite cubes.

Your hill, cloud and bush are off angle, your shapes have no definition of distance/lightsource..

In simple terms, as far as lighting goes, add shading.

As for distance, adding a cast shadow usually helps to point out exactly where an object is supposed to be.

heres what i have so far, i darkened the far right side of the dirt section and the end brick block.

I'm also working on a portal part, and the part underneath the dirt isnt supposed to be anything in particular.
