PWright Mic problems

So whenever I play Phoenix Wright (the first one for DS, can't remember the name) I can't say "OBJECTION!" into the mic. I press the button to let you speak into the mic but it doesn't work. My mic works in other games though.
Could it have something to do with the fact that I got my copy from a Canadian EBgames? I doubt it.
Any help would be nice.

Canadian game products are exactly the same as America, the physical product is distributed the same across North America. The only difference is that we like to slap on the boxart the fact that you bought it from Canada by copyrighting the products to Nintendo of Canada.


And do you have a DS Lite? I had so many problems with that mic, I hated how it was placed in the middle. On the original, I could blow up balloons quickly on MKDS. On the Lite, I couldn't even blow up on balloon.

No, I have an original DS. Could it just be something wrong with my individual copy?

Perhaps. If you bought it used, then tough luck.

If you bought it new, then you could just explain the problem and exchange it.

At least you don't need to say objection, but I'm sorry it doesn't work 8(

I got it brand new... over a year ago. In Canada, when I live in North America. Plus I don't have the receipt so it's three strikes against me.

No way of fixing it. I was hoping there was something in the options. Oh well.

Yeah, you may have a defective copy, but you don't really need to use the mic.
That is, until the very end, where you have to yell OBJECTION! into the mic to proceed to the credits.
