So it's been a long time since my last movie munchie, partly due to school and all these great games out now. But holy **** I need to wrap the year up, so this is the beginning of the last of the movie munchies.
National Treasure was an amazing movie, it was action packed and introduced a new idea of having clues to great treasure that could really be there. I was really eager to see this movie and in the end I'm glad I did.
The second movie is by no means a bad movie, it's just not as good as the first. The main problem is it follows way too many general action movie stereotypes, and at times can be just down right unoriginal. Another problem I had was a lot of the clues were in places that you
knew were not real. By being in places too easy to get to, or in places that you know from photographs are not true. Some of ways they find clues are also plain ridiculous. (Water bottle scene anyone?) I'd also like to know how they get all their gadgets for each task so easily after lacking a ton of them in the first one.
The story isn't bad considering the first one was not made with a sequel in mind. But Ed Harris just cannot compete with Sean Bean as a villain. The ending was also boring and predictable on his part.
Spoilers:
| You knew he was going to sacrifice himself for the others, but the character was so two dimensional that you didn't care. |
Part of the story was also left unresolved, but you can bet a sequel on that folks. But lots of the stunts were neat and the characters all still seemed themselves and enjoyable. Glad to hear some of that fantastic music as well. Good movie, just not as good as the first one.
