And like I've said before, you probably should have posted the idea in the Bosses topic before heading straight to sprites. :X

(Unless you're not particularly good at drawing and find that spriting comes more natural to you, or you aren't good at mouse drawing and lack a scanner.)

Ah, yeah. Sorry. I just had the idea in my mind, but for this project, I thought it would look better as a sprite than a drawing.

Ah, yeah, the only animation program I can make an animation with is GM, and it doesn't loop unless I set the number of frames. ohmy.gif Thanks.

(And I don't have a scanner so I cannot post Concept Art, GRR)
And the hood gets smaller because with your head at an angle the hood's gonna fall more down in your face when you're leaning over. Go put on a jacket and try it. biggrin.gif

GENERAL you have posted here in forever! Glad to see ya back in the game I guess. I guess look at Pucifur's tiles and start spriting in a similar style.
And you can do sprites, too, I know that. Maybe not animate though, but others can!

Sure, it shrinks vertically, but the opening of the hood can't just magically constrict. That fabric has to go somewhere. When you look down, it does shrink vertically, but it also widens horizontally at the base, making a sorta blobby shape. Conversely, when you look up, the hood's opening stretches vertically, but narrows appropriately to accomodate the increase in height. I'll show you what I mean when I draw the concept art (as soon as this dang cold goes away).



If it still doesn't sound right to you, try creating a situation (in pencil on paper) where there's a design on the hood consisting of twelve equally-sized color-coded circles in a band around the opening of the hood. Then draw the looking-up and looking-down poses while keeping the pattern in tact. Make sure it's to the same scale, so the circles should be nearly the same exact size on all three instances (save for foreshortening). If you have to squash the circles or shrink them to get them all to fit, then something is not right.

You mean the boat thing?

The hat still looks weird. The shading on the (boat?) looks odd, although I may be wrong, and the bubble animation looks unfitting. Maybe a spray animation.
