Pixel Ships is a soundless, yet fun horizontal shooter game, it is much like destroyer and pokemon, destroyer being the shooting part and pokemon being the possibility to capture 160 different ships and use them. Also if you have a little bit of money, the Retro version($13.95) is rather fun, but is a little pricy.

Actually, the old thread does still exist; it's just not stickied anymore and it's probably too late to bump it now anyway.


That SMB2.5D game is interesting, since its engine is partly good and partly bad. The 3D stuff is fine, but the physics are... not great, and the engine has other problems as well. The level design isn't very good either. (Interestingly, I noticed it's made with Game Maker.)

Might as well pitch in here,

Albero is an old platformer made with GM5.1 by Dexx, the owner of the long gone Dexx entertainment (The newer site is still up, but none of the download links work anymore) who used to be an affiliate and old friend of YoMamasMama, the owner of Helix games and the creator of famous games such as jumper and Untitled story.

Albero is a simple and fun rpg/platformer, and still holds up to its age. The story is okay, and the gameplay is excellent. Still one of my favorite freeware platformers next to Jumper and Cave Story.

Download it, it's a blast.

On second thought, holy crap, the only interesting thing about this game is the 3D. The level design is absolutely awful, and the engine is mediocre at best. I cannot count how many minutes I tried beating 1-2 to no avail. Whoever designed this game obviously did NOT test the levels. Hello, Mario can't fit through that space except for like 1 time out of 1000! His mask's too tall!
