This is a simple platformer how-to that shows you how to:
- Check for collisions in a three-dimensional space
- Jump
- And how a 3D platformer can sometimes be easier to make than a 2D one

In order to control the game, Q and W turn the camera, E and D zoom in and out, Arrow keys move, Space jumps. There are different objects for the different z values and if you try hard enough you can make more. There are no mario sprites, models, etc. but I think that this will be an excellent tutorial for Game Maker 7 Pro users and show them how they can make a 3d platformer. If you decide to edit this to make it mario, you do not have to give credit but it would be very very nice if you said something like "hey, I'm using your cool 3D platformer How-to, mmkay?"

Great job. It's a little hard to tell height, but other than that it's good.

Okay, I've updated it a bit. For starters, I added a shadow to make it easier to see where you land. Secondly, I made it larger and added fog to reduce lag. So, now there shouldn't be problems. Soon I'll change the sphere to a mario sprite.

Your howto lacks proper collision to account for gaps and walls, and it also lacks a shadow to mark where the item is so you can know when you are actually going to hit the ground.

Yoshiman doesn't have Game Maker. You didn't update the EXE.
