-How to Critique-
Some people on MFGG do not know how to critique properly. I am not saying that you should critique like this, but it'd be better for you and the person that you are doing the critique on.
-Things that you should not do in an critique-
1.] Do not say Fail, Sucks, Horrible, or anything negative in a non-constructive way. This does not help the person become better.
2.] Saying "Oh man, your art work is perfect" Because in reality, human beings aren't perfect. (except for Duckboy)
3.] If someone has stated a flaw out to the person, please try not to state that same flaw out. I'm sure the person knows that flaw after the first time. (or first couple of times of it being said)
-Things that you should do in an critique-
1.] Point out good things about the person's work and also bad things. This will tell the person what they did good on and what they need to improve on in the future.
2.] Help the person out by fixing their mistake and comparing the two works. Ask for permission first from the person though.
3.] Give out pointers and tricks (if you can) to the person on how to create a certain area in the work. This will help the person learn faster and make it quicker.
4.] Try to be nice about pointing out possible flaws in art work. Being an ass, doesn't make the person feel better about their art work.
5.] If you're familiar with an artist's work, when critiquing their work, critique with their style in mind. Don't try to critique on staples of their style, as it can come off as nitpicking.
I'm not trying to step on any toes here. I've just noticed that some people aren't really giving out good critiques. (or for that matter, being nice about it)
So, if you don't like this, that is fine. I thought I would help out people in the Art Boards a bit more. =)
