| QUOTE (Visionary @ Feb 24 2008, 09:18 PM) | | 3.] If someone has stated a flaw out to the person, please try not to state that same flaw out. I'm sure the person knows that flaw after the first time. |
Although you're on the right track with at least most of these, I'm not sure I can say I agree on this one.
Sometimes it might help to know that a given stated flaw is not only the isolated opinion of a single person. If two or more people think the same thing about some aspect of the thing being criticized, chances are the creator might consider it to be a bigger deal. I'm pretty sure that's what I'd think, anyway.
For example, if I made a game which did not lag on my computer, and it got many comments, but only one commenter said the game lagged on his computer, I might not think it a major issue - I might just think that person could have a ****ty computer. But what if several other would-be critics only weren't saying the same thing because they were following this rule? Lag might be a widespread problem for the game and I might not know it.
Of course, game lag might be a bit different from aspects of drawings and things like that, but I kind of think the same principle still applies in a way. A work of art may have a major flaw which is noticeable to nearly everyone, but the artist might not know it's major if only one person points it out.

| QUOTE (DJ Yoshiman @ Feb 26 2008, 01:45 AM) | | Grant, that is true. However, I think she was more focusing on several occasions where people are just focusing on that one flaw and nothing else because someone else mentioned it, or where many MFGGers feel the need that even after the 3rd time, they need to mention the flaw again until it becomes 6 times. |
I will agree that people piling on with posts with nothing more than "I agree" or something, without much thought or effort put into them, can be quite annoying.
I seem to remember some main site incident where people were agreeing with someone else's comment (though I can't quite remember if said comment was criticism or praise) over and over and numbering the agreements (like "agree 4, agree 5, agree 6" or something like that). I recall snapping at them rather assishly in response because I found it incredibly stupid and annoying. >_> Of course, one or two of them continued even after that.

I have to agree with grant on this one... Most artists on MFGG are so hard headed that if something is wrong, and is pointed out once.. they refuse and go "Well nobody else said it looked bad" The problem with that on MFGG, is that most don't know the difference between good and bad..
An example will be Unamedmfgger21, His sprtes were so washed out, over shaded Improperly ect, yet because most of the MFGG populous said his sprites were "AMAZING" He refused ANY critique without me and The-robot-master-you-cannot-defeat Practically beating it over his head..
