Yes I still would like connection too.

But classifying it into worlds is too limiting.

Ideas I really like so far:
-Desert world (lol)
-Melting Ice world, and
-That ground-pound idea the flamedragon posted a while back

I also think a level inside a giant fish would be cool

Can we start with something a little more... fancy than your generic grassland? Sure, make it a grassland, but add a little something. Have it be right outside Wario's castle or something (and certain parts of the castle lie in the playing field, I'll show you in a picture later). I hate playing through the same bland levels in every fan game.

What about the walls having cracks in it and wario punching through it, waluigi bombing it? Then just make it really tall.

I just thought of something. Part of the first world for Mario & Luigi could include the digging site the tablet was found. One level could be a level filled with deep ditches and wooden scaffolding, and the very next level could be a cave with some vaguely ancient-looking artifacts and lamps and stuff. Monty Moles could be in the digsite level while Buzzy Beetles and Swoopers fill the cave level. Of course, this would all take place in the plains level.

Oh my

reading the first post makes the game look so official and SA2B-styled (in the good meaning, of course)! The story is good, the grapichs are superb, and the levels look very different but still cool (like, for example, i can't wait to play the city level with any teams. Just make sure it looks like a Mario game City, like the Mushroom City or the Mushroom Bridge circuits in Mario Kart: Double Dash.) I just hope the music is good, too: We don't really need to keep the same tune for every stage, and we can also even use song with lyrics if they fit. Bowser Castle could use a music with all that Opera-like chorus thing from Bowser battles in Mario Galaxy. If that happens, the game will be perfect!

P.S.: I don't think a NES stage is really needed. At least not in the plot. Maybe it could be a sidequest/secret stage only for fun, that could be acessed by a secret exit or such.

For the Wario Bros...we should do levels and bosses similar to this. Like the carousel/music levels. And the GIANT smiling boss, the musician boss, and the grim reaper boss.

(I'm not saying PUT THEM in, I just mean it'd be a great level inspiration (except smaller).

That looks confusing to do for the carousel... Knowing WarioLand levels though they have always been a confusing part of the game (puzzles in the level, they're supposed to be confusing. =P) so say we did do that carousel. Once we got something for the rotating room scenario, should (would) we sneak in a switch that either Wario or Waluigi must find? You know, like a hidden object underneath something hidden from view, to stump the player.

Am I on track?

I meant doing levels more in that vein. Like a rollercoaster ride boss, where you fight a boss on an endless rollercoaster ride. Which would of course, be tough to make, but it would be extremely inventive.

A carousel would be fun to do, but I don't actually recommend stealing the ideas.

The cowboy boss, for instance, is the sort of thing Wario would end up fighting, but I'd only use it as inspiration.

I'm saying, don't hold back on boss inventiveness just because the idea seems tough to make. We should make the bosses a lot more inventive and cool. Though I would love to do similar things, like the music level. But steal the whole thing? No.
