What other bosses could be introduced?
And how would they be used?

I also think if we do a Lava level then there should be a melted Lava creature kind of like the goo creature that Shy guy greg did.

I've been thinking...


Petey Piranha sounds like a great boss for World 1, considering he's simple, familiar, and fits well in a field.


That slime creature would be a great boss for the ocean world.


Dragelton would make a perfect boss for the magma caverns under Bowser's Castle.


No idea about Lakigeist, though, unless we have a spooky world.




Also, should we have unique bosses for each version? It would help to spice things up. I mean, each version already has a unique endboss (Bowser/Kamek).

I think the goo thing should be in the city level if we have one, he will be perfect for the sewers. Also think that the Dragonite should be in the temple as a mini boss.

Actually, I've been desiging the "goo boss" (Booblob) for more of a ghost level. But any level works.


Question though.

When making a boss. Do we (the spriters) have the freedom to say how you defeat the boss? Cause I have it where you defeat him by finding an ice block to throw at him, while avoiding tentacles that pop out of walls and the floor.

For the melting ice world idea I think a giant red t-rex (similar to rex). He would un melt from a huge glacier in the background and attack. You would have to get him to chase you so stalagimites drop on him and squish him.

And King Boo and Big Bob-omb should totally be bosses.

King Boo would be in a maze of blocks, that you had to carefully navigate through but he could just simply float through the walls. He would throw boo balls at you (and the occasional boo bomb). He would also generate smaller boos. Since he is undead the only way to win is get to the end of the course, where there is a huge beam of light coming from a window.

And big bob-omb could throw bob-ombs and those metallic bolders.

And I'm not sure about us deciding things like that. I mean, sure, we have control over animations and stuff, and we have control over our own creations. We just can't say how someone else's creation is defeated. :P


@Rex: I'm afraid that doesn't sound very... Mario-y... :(

@King Boo: That's not much of a boss fight, that's a race to the finish. And I'd rather we not use too many old bosses. <_<

@Big Bob-omb: Again, original bosses.

How about a pumpkin boss with spiky tentacles similar to the naval pirhana and he would spit out fire and roll across the screen.

You know those pumpkin piranha plant things in SMW that replace the normal ones? We should have a giant one of those, either like Lava Piranha or Naval Piranha. Just a suggestion, but it hasn't been done before.

How about the one in Link' awakening where you have to jump over the spiky roller thing he throws at you and attack him?

How about a giant ball (like Salvo the Slime from YI) that shoots out spikes to protect itself from being stomped (like Boom-Boom) and you throw Koopa shells at it to give it damage.

What about:

A Goomba/Buzzy Beetle/Koopa/Paratroopa? You would have to bounce on him making him hide in the Buzzy Shell. You can kick this through a brick wall. It will come back. You must wall jump back up and hit the head. It will screech and eat you. You cn not escape from eating as it is a cutscene. Once in the mouth you must punch it's "Adam's Apple" Making it sit you out and run. The wall falls and you win.

You Know big bob-omb is a very original boss, he was in one game. And not every boss has to be new, we want to keep the mario feel, so a few old bosses isn't bad.

And the giant rex, not very marioish doesn't make a good complaint.

About the King boo idea, maybe instead of a boss battle that could just be a level, like before anyone fights him.

and a original boss idea.

Disguise Guy:A camaflouge shyguy with a mustouche (not a original design, but eh). He turns off the lights and five enemies show up. You have to figure out what enemy doesn't look right, and then hit it. If its disguise guy you hurt him but if its not he turns off the lights and attacks you.

And to beat big bob omb you have throw th bob ombs back at him, he is not hury by jumps because of his crown.

I like the idea but instead, it would be cool if he put on a cheap costume (Thwomp, bowser, Mario, ext) and attacked in that manner.

Not to sound insulting, but all your boss battles sound more like mini-games than actual, you know, battles. <_<


I like the Disguise Guy idea, though. Maybe he could be a mini-boss somewhere?

I always like to see a giant stone type boss where you have to go through him (Which is designed like a small stage/challenge, either precise jumping or killing enemies that he spawns) to go hit him, and you have to do that 3 times, and it's different each time.
