I finally bought Sonic and the Secret rings

jesus christ its ****ing HORRIBLE at first, but then it gets a tad better when you level up

the controls are wonky and unresponsive sometimes, but it's a solid experience

you get used to the controls and they suddenly lose all wonkyness

and yeah beginning sucks ass; last few levels rock hard though

i'm tempted to post that Thunder comic I made again

I got to Evil Foundary, and sorta stopped playing it.

I got sick of doing the missions just to get to another stage. I haven't touched it in like 4 weeks.

I don't know. It just doesn't feel like a sonic game. feels 3rd party.

by the way that's kinda how it is in most 3D sonic games

Levitated ruins was annoying as ****, swinging on the rope and the homing attack marker not showing up

almost speared my tv with the wiimote

the game is **** and can burn in hell

Yeah Levitated Ruins is the worst level in the game other than the prologue.

Yea sadly it is.

Anything after Sonic Adventure 2 felt mediocre.

Sonic Hereo's..Didn't feel like a sonic game..
Sonic Air ride..God no.
Sonic Rivals. Felt like a mini-game. No.
Shadow the hedgehog. No.
Sonic Next gen. Nope
Sonic & Secret rings. Nope.

I believe the team was split and someone else took over. That can be the only explanation.

Not really, actually. I'm sure it'll be good because BioWare make damn good RPGs, but I don't buy DS games anymore. The only game coming out for the DS that I MIGHT get is Metal Slug 7, and I'm not even sure about that.

I'm pretty sure the story was that Sammy basically went and raped Sonic Team/Sega.

Despite what people say, it's apparent they are trying to please the fans, who are too blind to notice. After Sonic Adventure they went back to a more straight forward playstyle, like the old games, rather then running around a world map you just went forward through the stages. Sonic Heroes brought back old characters and the Sonic & Knuckles play through the same stages different paths style, Shadow focused on a single gameplay style, tried to appeal to both "real" fans with SA2 and Sega Genesis nods and the GTA kid type crowd, and from what I heard SONIC 06 went through hell in development with losing the debuggers and stuff, but to me felt like Sonic Adventure 3 with horrible load times and a cheesy/somewhat disturbing revival kiss thing.(as far as I remember, before that it was really just a kind of the princess never let out of the castle friendship type thing, a concept which even KIRBY did in the anime)

Either way, it's obvious they are at least trying despite Sammy or people quiting or whatever it is. Sonic is never going to be "as good as the old days", most of the members from back then probably left, and the general principles can't really be applied to a modern 3D game, really. Don't most "real fans" basically ask for Sonic 3 remakes anyway? The same could probably be said for Mario and SMB3, though...


I... am not sure if that really fits the topic much, I just posted the Sammy bit in response to the team thing and went off on a tangent. Sorry
