Solid Block
Bouncy Solid
Spiny (Red)

Planning:

Sidestepper (Red and Blue
Koopa
Fighter fly (Normal and Angry)

Luigi as playable character!

I laughed!

Other thing to improve are the slopes. You sink to the deep one when moving uphill and float over them when moving downhill.

How to fix:
CODE
if vspeed is larger than -1
     if hspeed is larger than 0
           if at relative position (0,4) there is object left_slope_steep
                 move relative to position (0,hspeed)
           if at relative position (0,4) there is object left_slope
                 move relative to position (0,hspeed/2)
     if hspeed is smaller than 0
           if at relative position (0,4) there is object right_slope_steep
                 move relative to position (0,-hspeed)
           if at relative position (0,4) there is object right_slope
                 move relative to position (0,-hspeed/2)
In STEP event.

I changed the graphics

Now is a Mario Bros Arcade Engine

when I have all the planned things placed on the engine
I will put an open source of this!

Pretty good, but spinys can get stuck in each other.
And you should add more sprites for Mario.

I tested it and it looks very good for an early alpha. I found some bugs in the jump and collision routine. So, mario hangs in the air if he collide with a block on the right or left side (he must fall or continue his jump with no move to right/left). The enemies (spinies) hangs if they collide with other enemies. I hope i could help but i know nothing about game maker (i am blitz basic programmer).
