Also, I've updated the game a tiny bit, so you can change some video options etc, Download the new attachment! ;)
Next version is coming along nicely, It'll be with sound support, Delta Timing and some other things!
It'll be released this upcoming week.

When you've updated things a bit and perhaps maybe added something more to your demo, let me know and I'd be glad to test it out and give you some comments

@game
whoa, its amazing. I used my logitech dual action and it is fantastic. I played the level wink.gif. But i found something that you can improve, the automatic camera control. Keep up the great work, please

@roland, Thanks :) Yeah, I'm aware of the really bad camera system, It's not automated at all yet, I'll give it some attention tomorrow or so ;)

Currently I'm rewriting a lot of the movement functions, making them more dynamic and easier to add new things to :P

This is really smooth and plays well. Great job!

Also, thank you for creating the first game that doesn't lag on my computer when I turn the "bloom" effect on soveryhappy.gif

Will delta timing make it run faster on slower computers?

I can't get my Xbox 360 controller working with it. How do I make it work, and before you ask, yes I have installed the drivers and have used it with other games.

@supermariomaster, Yes. Delta timing makes the game run at same speed no matter the FPS. And also, that version is already released, I update the first thread in this topic as soon as I release something new, so don't bother the old posts ;)

@Blaster, Maybe your controller isn't classified as an Analog joypad, If you send me a PM with your e-mail I can send you a small test program to check it ;)

I ran into a glitch where the camera started flickering from zooming out so far, you can see the whole map, to a white screen and different zoom lengths.

plus, can you get into the castle?

EDIT: And now I can't see anything when I start a level.

I just think the DoF thing is a bit useless. first, because Mario 64 didn't really had it, and second that it's set TOO high (which i mean, it gets foggy/unfocused to near the screen). If you want to make it like Mario Galaxy or something, you should make the DoF lower/farther the screen.

But i think that's all. I hope the movements get better, because we all know 3D programming is hard. Now just imagine how hard would be programming every animation with it's own move and such.

Oh, and now i want to make a 3D game D: (That Testlevel made me remember of Army Men: Sarge Heroes, that's why).

When attempting to play the game, at start-up, it prompts me with a "Unable to create 3D Scene" error.

@thingy, Tell me if you figure out how to replicate this glitch ;)

@Drezus, The DoF effect is an addition to the game, I admit it's a bit "over DoFed", I'll adjust it ;)

@iceinwar, Does this error occur when you entered the number and pressed enter?

@DJ Yoshiman, I don't know what causing this problem, Which OS are you using?

Okay, I'm getting a REALLY weird glitch here. When I jump, I get sucked backwards at random times! And not only when I jump, but also at other random times.

Windows XP Home SP2

What program did you make this game in? I might be able to assess the problem correctly if I found out what program was used to create it.

I must say that this is a nice improvement from your last demo. Things seem a lot more crisp and I'm glad you took my advice on the jumping.

It is a good looking demo so far and I'm pretty impressed. The next things you may need to work on is perhaps objects, tweaking the camera and perfecting Mario's movement. One thing that kinda bothered me is how everything is blurred at a semi-close distance but I guess if it's what you had to do to improve the FPS then I don't expect you to make a drastic change in that.

Good work so far, it looks like you're putting a pretty good effort into this.
