No More Heroes

No More Heroes, somewhat recently released on the Wii, is a great game that frankly, isn't getting the praise it deserves. It got pretty decent reviews (Anywhere from 6 to 10, honestly), but it has a small fanbase, yet a very devoted one. The game's story is simple, really. A guy named Travis Touchdown has no money to buy video games, so he decides the best idea is to become an assassin. Ridiculous, I know, but that's nothing compared to the rest of the game. You'll be found fighting kareoke singing detectives, insane little girls, war hardened mercenaries, and more. The gameplay is simple, but at the same time full of depth and oh so rewarding. You more or less press A and hold your Wii remote up or down for high or low strikes, but when your enemy is weakend, you're given a direction to swing your Wii remote to give them a finishing (A very gorey) blow, that always winds up in some sort of bloody dismemberment. You also learn melee moves that also use the motion sensing quite well. They're activated with B, and pulled off with Wii remote and nun-chuck motions that are fun to pull off and watch.

Aside from the great combat, there's also an overworld to explore. I must admit, this game's HUB world is pretty atrocious, but it didn't stop me from enjoying the game alot. First of all, the HUB world is huge and full of glitches such as awful collision detection and occasional pop-up. It doesn't really feel lively, either. However, you can do side quests, mini assassination missions and free fight missions. All of which prove to be fun, but not as fun as the 11 ranked assassinations. Side quests are basically odd jobs that involve things like collecting fruit, filling up cars with gas, helping a man find his cats, etc. They don't really sound fun or entertaining, and while they are not at all speedy or violent like the main missions, they help diversitise the gameplay up a bit. They're pretty much optional too, you can choose not to do them and just do assassination missions, though you will make money faster by doing all types of missions. The assassination missions are pretty much smaller versions of the ranked missions, which just involve you killing hordes of enemies till a timer goes out or untill you've killed them all. Free fight missions are very hard, and involve you taking down all the enemies on screen without taking a single hit. Not the best part of the game, but fun none the less. The gameplay is smooth and polished and will keep you coming back for more, making what would be a boring mission in one game, fun in this one. I highly suggest this game to anyone with a Wii. It's great fun and if you love the combat, you will keep playing this game over and over again.

I agree. It's a great game. I played through the game and got the final ending.
I must say it is the stragest game I have ever played.
The city sucks. No way near as good as Scarface's city and Scarface is another great game that was overlooked.
Also I love how you save the game, and if you don't know. You have to sit on the toilit.
