I know that currently a few people (few being one) are currently working on tilesets, either people have more fun working on enemies and bosses or they don't understand the importance of tilesets, whatever it is, we need more tileset spriters.
Pucifur is working on a forest tileset, and I am working on a small misc. tileset. Since by now we have a slight outline on what worlds we have, we can have a gneral idea's on what to do.
Since we have done enough on the enemies and allies for now, we can't really start an engine until tilesets are done to actually MAKE a level.
So who here will possibly or currently is producing a tileset?

Current tilesets :

You know, we probably won't get many tilesets done until we actually know what the worlds are and how they will look.

Also, neither of those sheets are really complete. :(

I agree with Peardian. I could make some tilesets if I knew what the worlds were going to be. People seemed to like the idea of a melting ice world, is that in for sure? If so, I could try that.

Well, for now we should probrably make basic things and not really world-themed things, kind of like global tilesets that you see in many worlds that would just... be there, like flags or fences and dirt and some hills, nothing like volcanoes, lava, water, roots, or anything that goes with the actualy world theme and that you would only see in that specific world.

But you can't really make anything if you don't know what the world is going to look like. Even the dirt and fences.

The only thing that's truly universal is, well, blocks, and I'm toying with the idea of each tileset having its own item blocks and whatnot, to create a more unified feel.

Alright guys, we basically have World One plotted out.

Now here's our dilemma. Should the tiles follow suit with the style, black outlined with highlights? I say yes.

What about backgrounds? I think non-outlined backgrounds would fit better.

Maybe we could reference Icegoom for this one?

I sort of agree.

As far as the black outline goes, I think that should stick on solid BG objects and tile peices.

Softer things (bushes, flags, flowers) I think should have lighter outlines.

Not sure why, just think it'd be cool.

Yeah, sounds great.

SGG, do you have anything really big that's making you busy right now?

We should design the tileset and background for the dig/cavesites together.

:O

I've started working full time and I'm scheduled for pretty much every day.

Today was my only day off.

But I can still work on stuff, it's not big deal, although I've never done tilesets before, so it'd be a good chance for me to try.

Here's some tiles. Still a WIP. I dunno if they're in the style, though.
