I don't know if this is a rumor or if it's true. But it'd be sad if it was real.

It's true. He's become freelance so Squeenix doesn't have to necessarily suck him dry anymore (he would compose music for one FF and immediately move on to the next or so I understand). Squeenix can and probably will still get him to compose music for their games but now he can do other stuff too.

Just as long as Squeenix doesn't hire whoever did the horrible noise they tried to pass of as "music" in FFX-2 as their new main FF composer I'm fine with it.

Yeah, Nobuo's "graduated" Square Enix to form his own studio. He'll probably do more work with Square Enix in the future, and besides, he's done a track for FF12, and is still part of the Black Mages, so it's not all bad.

I think the guy who did FF Tactics on PSone is doing FF12. Not sure though.

Bouche met Nobuo Uematsu at the Fantasia concert thing in Sydney. Lucky sod. cool.gif

I hope he still works with Square, but that means that most Final Fantasies are probably going to have more of a FFX-feel to the music. I'm not the biggest fan of FFX, to say the least.
