Hello, and allow me to feature Princess Peach Diaries!

It's a weird name, but the name I intended to take was already taken. Anywho, PPD is about Princess Peach's adventure to once again save Mario from Bowser, just like SPP. In this demo, there is:

-One World, 8 Levels, a Boss, and 3 Secret Levels.
-Goombas, Koopas, and Pirahna Plants.
-Rainbow Coins!
-No Storyline.

Updates from 1.0 to 1.1:
- More decor
- Less Delay (Title Screen is at least 3 times faster. The Moving platform parts were fixed, except 1-5 cause that's a secret :P)
- A Map problem fixed
- A Useless World Map is now viewable wink.gif

Current Progress:
Worlds: Ideas placed down
Bosses: Ideas place down (Passing over 1)

Currently Working On:
-Engine Edits (New better engine)
-World 1, Level 1
-Creating sprites

Expect the full game to have:
-9 Worlds, 6 Levels each, and a Bonus World with tons of varieties of levels (Some levels that would have been includes, Bosses, etc.)
-Some Unlockable features
-Cutscenes, and a place to watch them all!
-Bosses you'd never see coming!
-Around 30 Collectible Cards!
-Custom Graphics here and there!
-And more!

No storyline is present because this is a demo and I feel that demos don't need the story. Screenshots will be posted at a later date, so sorry if you wanted those.

Lastly: Give constructive critism. I don't want "Oh, this game rocks" or "This game is stupid". Give me reasons why it rocks or is stupid, so I know what to improve.

Not bad, lets make a list:
- The delay before the title menu is too long in my opinion. There are people, who want to get to the action as soon as possible.
- The level design is too much passed on moving platforms and they move too long distances. If you miss a moving platform, you have to wait for it too long time.
- The music is nice and catchy, but you're using it wrong. It's nice to hear music that hasn't been used in fangames before, but hearing it constantly in every level makes it bland quickly. Have more variety please.
- The levels and the mapscreen look bland. Add some decorations.
- When you go to the hidden mushroom house, you can't climb up the ladder. Fix this by putting route object in between the house and ladder.

It's otherwise a good game, though the physics feel quite floaty as well. Nice to see my map engine in use :)

You forgot to remove a programmer-only button on the map. Also, while I was on the map, I couldn't get back up from the toad house.

@Yoshbert: Thanks! Even if you did steal my game name which you didn't intend to do laugh3.gif

@Ultramario: I agree with all the delay things but I needed to check with all oyu other people first to see if anyone would complain. I'll shorten them both. I almost forgot decorations so thanks for reminding me. That problem with the ladder thing was fixed, so thank you, and great map engine! Also, Peach tends to be floaty in my opinion, so sorry about that. Lastly, I'd love to add more music, but if I did, That'd take up more memory, and there is a memory limit to posting on the actual site. Sorry if it bothers you alot....However, if I have extra space, I'll be sure to add in more music variety.

@DR Demon: Why should room speed be higher? If I did, everything would go by too fast, and I'm too far in production to change everything. If it's about the platforms, that's being fixed.

@Project_MK: The "Programmer-only" button was purposely left, in case others wanted to skip levels. However, it's not a secret anymore since you just revealed it! Finish the frikkin game before you post! (I'm not mad). Anyways, after you beat the demo, which is after the boss battle, you'll get a message that says everything you ever needed to know about the demo.

And thanks for all that feedback, I'll be fixing those problems as soon as possible.
Lastly, please try to finish the demo before you post feedback. Thanks again!

Okay, currently playing the game and I like what I'm seeing so far. ^_^ My only gripe is the same thing that Ultramario already stated.

Also, I don't think there's a problem with the music structure that the author is using. I only hope that each "world" will have a certain theme instead of just one. :P

Oh, and good choice of music for the Hidden Mushroom House. nod.gif

And if you haven't quite figured it out, the Hidden Mushroom Theme is Glitzville from PM:TTYD.

Note, 1.1 is out, which is basically all the crap you people wanted fixed.

Also, Ctrl allows you to open routes without completing the levels. However, that will soon be taken out because I don't want cheating past world 2!

Sounds great; but here's a tip -- once you have a world finalized, make sure to take the shortcut command out for reasons that you've already stated. wink.gif It just doesn't make much sense for folks to get to the very end of your entire game and not meet criteria to get to that point.

EDIT: And yes, I did recognize that tune from PM: TTYD. :P Makes sense using that for the Hidden Mushroom House.

I made them myself, using a Mario Map Sprite as a template. No wonder she looks so fat.....and her skin is as white as snow! laugh3.gif

This is a game I INTEND to finish. I haven't ever finished a game (excluding homework) in over 2 years, and I HAVE to break the curse!

Anyways, all new updates will be put on the main site, under the name Super Peach Dreams (It's under Super Princess Peach World right now, due to me not being on the forums at March 10, so therefore, did not know SPPW existed). A new update will hopefully be posted before I leave for school.

Okay, I just checked the latest demo, and all I have to say is that the Birdo battle was funny. Really funnt. tongue.gif In a good way, of course. I still have work to do in terms of getting the Toads (maybe when you finalize the complete game).

And the Peach Map sprite was MEANT to be in 8-bit, because a better one would clash with the background.

Also, I'm slowing down on this a bit but it's nothing to worry. I'm working on it still. Just not as much. Once I finsih part of Toadville I needed to do, I'll be doing it fast again.
