by having Limit FPS on

If you're looking to be confused, make word filters changing all vowels to a certain letter (I suggest to a vowel), all for read-only, and loose. For example, with all vowels turned to "i"...

logically they'll probably slow down the movie after having recorded it

assuming it is a movie file and not some emulator-read thing.

I doubt Project64 works for that.

They don't use Project 64.

They use Mupen64, and it has an option somewhere for manual frame-skipping.

So then you go through a very patience-inciting process of pressing a button to skip a frame, then hold the next input down, while pressing the button to skip again. Screw it up, and you have to go back to the frame you started and do it all over again.

Tool-assisted speedruns aren't as fun to do as you would believe they are.
