Graphics or Gameplay?

if it's an epic game it needs good graphics for epic story etc like HL 2

I actually consider sound to be a major factor along with gameplay.

Graphics need to suit the gameplay and as long as you can enjoy the game, it is good. It really depends on the game, but in general I think gameplay adds more to the fun than graphics.

Gameplay, but if the graphics are impossible to see/follow then the game would be very annoying.

I chose "both" last time, so "both" again. Can't play a game that is sex to the eyes if it plays like crap, and I can't play a game with great controls and story with crappy graphics.

A game with amazing graphics and bogus game play is on the "half-off" shelf a month later.

The game-play is really what matters. I still play old N64 games just because their fun, not because the graphics are good.

I don't give a **** what is lacking or what is in excess.

I think the whole question is sort of stupid.

It usually seems like the people who bring the "Gameplay>Graphics" arguement into something are only using it to create a reason for criticizing some game(s)/system(s) when they don't have much, if anything else to back up their claims.

Both.

I typically don't give either or much consideration, but if a game has great graphics and crap gameplay or crap graphics and great gameplay, I usually don't buy it because imbalance = failure.
