| QUOTE (Soiyeruda @ Mar 26 2008, 08:33 PM) | Bosses aren't generally meant to be complicated however...... They're meant to have a simple attack pattern that should take a 6 year old to figure out. In the Mario Platform realm, there's almost no such thing as a complicated boss. They all follow one attack pattern, and have fewer than 3 attacks normally. They sound like neat bosses (Is the whale a Yoshi?), but they just need to be easier to manage.... |
A mind is a terrible thing to waste and ,and I bet not that many 6 year olds would find Mfgg interesting. Most of the video game veterans come here I'm sure the most of us are get tired of ,do nothing but shoot in one direction bosses. And their only weakness is easy access stomping to the cranium 20 times. Now does that sound like fun to you? It might be, but definitely not challenging. I can under stand that being fun if your playing as Sora or sonic because they have a krapp load of attacks. But for Mario usually the only moves he has is jump, jump, and jump. For people that have beaten allot of easy bosses, they get quickly bored of battling another new easy one, they want some thing new challenging if I don't speak for all I speak for myself.

I'm sorry, but I must interject here. Remember Super Princess Peach? The platformer geared towards girls but was still fun for everyone?
Petey Piranha: While avoiding his attacks, you have to water the plants, which grew into climable beanstalks. You then have to wait for him to open his mouth so you can fill him up with water, then stomp on him when he falls over. He can fly, send out shockwaves, and belch out Nipper plants. He is the first boss.
What Yoshibro. posted is by no means overly complicated. :(
Edit: Well, the Chuck boss's description is worded a bit funny so it sounds complicated, but after thinking a bit it's really a simple concept.
