This is true.
I've fought alot of people that are usually pretty careful in multiple player brawls, shields and smart dashes but for some reason, when it comes down to just Olimar, they tend to think they can just run right in and brutalize him.
Alot of people seem to get the impression that he's a character that has to rely on long range attacks. Up close, Olimar is like a slot machine of pain, especially against some of the slower characters.
