plus no one sees him coming. No one ever thinks he's good and then suddenly that same person went from 0 to 100% within a few seconds before he even knows what hit him.

This is true.

I've fought alot of people that are usually pretty careful in multiple player brawls, shields and smart dashes but for some reason, when it comes down to just Olimar, they tend to think they can just run right in and brutalize him.

Alot of people seem to get the impression that he's a character that has to rely on long range attacks. Up close, Olimar is like a slot machine of pain, especially against some of the slower characters.

Also, nobody pays attention to Olimar's Pikmin, but his player will probably know what his lineup is -- therefore nobody expects it when you whack them with a yellow and it KO's them when the same attack with a blue would barely hurt
