That's right. For those of you (living in the US) who think that as long as it's drawn, it's "AWWRIGHT", you're sorely mistaken. If any of you live in the US and look at lolicon, I would delete all of that ****, unless you want to spend 20 years in a federal prison. I know it says it's just a crime to "produce or distribute" but this guy was just looking at it and got in trouble.

Spoilers: The government doesn't go after the collectors, you think they'd have time to go to the millions of people homes that download this stuff(or even see it since thats just as bad), and prosecute them? The FBI is too busy trying to track down the distributors.

If they do catch you with real child porn, they will use this law to bring up additional charges against you, but no one is going to come after you simply for this. Don't get freaked out.

Except when you delete something you are just telling the computer that the space of memory that the data was written on is O.K. to be overwritten, and then it's counted as free space, but the data is actually still there and can be recovered in certain ways that the FBI and shizz do use. The only way to completely eliminate it would be to format your hard-drive several times over, or set it on fire and get a new hard drive

Or use a file-shredder utility that writes noise over the file contents 10-20 times.

EDIT: Also, it won't matter, because a file shredding utility isn't illegal, and they still don't have any evidence you had the files in question since you shredded them
