It was a bit confusing at first, and takes a bit too long (but that's all right for the final stage). I just think it was too lazy-ish to copy-paste some part of the previous stages and make links between then.

The place has a million save points, so it's "length" was more just the stubborness of never wanting to quit.

Which honestly is why RPG games must seem so "epic" because they get you bored of doing the same thing so much you actually HAVE to quit.

I liked how all the save points healed you and made it easy.

If you're looking to be confused, make word filters changing all vowels to a certain letter (I suggest to a vowel), all for read-only, and loose. For example, with all vowels turned to "i"...

The Great Maze was slightly annoying in that you get used to a cutscene every level or so, then go into what is essentially pure gameplay, but the fact it was essentially Metroid/Kirby and the Amazing Mirror meets Smash Bros with a mix of Mega Man made up for that. It didn't however make up for the fact I have an item I can't find in one of the corners... Also, I don't really remember it being "the same levels all over again" as while the level types WERE the same, the actual levels were for the most part new. It reminded me of a suped up version of the final level in Kirby's Dream Land, just with linked levels.

I was walking around aimlessly for about half an hour before finally realizing

It became a little more tolerable when enemy locations started showing up.

By this point, I'd already gotten used to the learning curve, so it was fairly easy to go through most of The Great Maze. It was just the length and the fact that two of your targets could be on complete opposite sides of the maze and you're stuck in the middle cursing to yourself for the distance you'd have to travel to get one, then the other.
