Quick people name an NES game I should play

Hey guys, we're talking about NES games somebody should play.



There was this one game Quickman really liked ... I can't remember the name, but I think it had Metal in it, and you were a robot who could reverse gravity and walk on the ceiling (at any time.)

The animation was extremely smooth for a NES game.

Nobody's said Bionic Commando yet? That's odd.

Also, Mach Rider isn't underrated. It's just really, really terrible and hard.

Face it. There's not a single gameplay mechanic in Mother 1 or 2 that warrants playing the goddamned game.

The only reason to play it is becuse of the hilarious bullcrap that happens in it.

As a game, it is a travesty and an insult. It's a pile of ****, but it's a pretty pile of ****.

The HP odometer was actually a pretty innovative and interesting idea.

This isn't enough to disprove your statement that it warrants people to play it, but it's still pretty interesting. :1

Rolling health is a very common factor of RPG's. For one, I think it's been in every Square RPG since Final Fantasy. (I do know it's in every Final Fantasy past 6)

It's certainly something I haven't seen before.

Especially the aspect that you can remain active even if your HP goes below 0, as long as the odometer doesn't hit 0.

Not just rolling display -- rolling value -- isn't limited to Mother at all

Okay, I'm positive that wasn't in any Final Fantasy game after 6. Or any Square game for that matter. BUT perhaps I'm just misinformed.

Please direct my attention to an RPG game that features the same aspect of rolling HP value, that rolls slow enough to perform any given action before death.

Well ... in FF7 you have to level a bit into the thousands, but I think it's about the same speed as in Earthbound (lord knows I was never able to heal out of death in earthbound)

It's sort of the same way with the higher level thing. I've used Lifeup plenty of times to save a character from death's grip. It's easier when they're in higher levels and there's a lot of HP to countdown. :7
