Metal Slug 4 isn't THAT bad

The levels themselves are pretty fun, it's just.. UGHHH why are the bosses so FRUSTRATING




They're not the fun kind of challenge that is present in other Metal Slug games, they're just ****ing hard and annoying and WHY DOES THE LAST BOSS HAVE AN UNDODGABLE ATTACK

EVERY METAL SLUG IS GOOD IN IT'S OWN WAY

But Metal Slug 4 is actually one of my favorites, if not just for the city level where almost everything in the level is destructable, unless I'm thinking of Metal Slug 2/X.

Well yeah MS4 is pretty cool and it's got some great music (different composer than most other MS games, since MS4 and 5 were made by Mega and not SNK)

However the bosses are just so RIDICULOUSLY annoying


In almost every other Metal Slug game I can get to Mission 4 without dying once


in MS4 I'm amazed if I can beat the Mission 2 boss without losing at least 2 lives ):

I can beat level 1 in all of 'em without dying, but that's uh, it.

it doesn't start lagging until the final piece of the tower, but it still caused me to take two missiles to the face because it kept jumping like 12 frames at a time ):


Oh yeah, and MS4 is the ONLY Metal Slug where I actually have to abuse grenades- Normally I almost NEVER use them, but MS4 is an exception D:

The final mission music was plain flat out awesome, gotta admit that.

MS4 has one of the best soundtracks of the series

I'm a wuss who has only played the Metal Slug games through Anthology and therefore plays them with unlimited continues.

So I guess I can't share your frustration.

Six is terrible, but I do like the little "stat" system they tried

Wait does Anthology have MVS mode?? lol I forgot because I usually play it on my Neogeo because the controls are more comfortable or an Emulator for video capturing

MVS is basically just normal mode. MVS is used for the difficulty that is standard and preferred for arcades to use on the cabinet.

Sometimes it's more difficult than "hard", other times it isn't. Go to an arcade though, and it'll most likely be set to MVS. Metal Slug it doesn't make much of a difference besides the number of hits enemies take and how many spawn. I don't recall if it truly was harder than playing on hard or what though, they may have just ordered that oddly.
