American Psycho
This is probably one of the only movies that I can not only artistically analyse, but laugh at as well. American Psycho is based off of a very controversal book of the same name (Which is much gorier and more graphic than the film, which is pretty graphic as well), it is about a seemingly average guy named Patrick Bateman. He goes to work, goes out for drinks with his buddies, makes plenty of money, et cetera. He seems this way, but he progressively becomes more and more insane as the movie continues, killing more than a few people in not only grousome, but in sometimes hilarious ways. I remember one of my favorite scenes involving him explain to a guy his favorite song It's Hip to be Square, while the song played, as he axed him to death all at the same time. The movie isn't all for laughs and seeing how much blood can be spread in a matter of 120 minutes, but it somehow displays killing and psychotics in an artistic way, kind of like Sweeny Todd.
Patrick Bateman says that it's Hip to be Square.I recommend this to lovers of slashers, thrillers, and even comedies, as it tends to poke fun at the slasher and horror genre. Though don't be confused by this movie's success and go out and buy American Psycho 2. It has almost no relation to the original and is absolutely terrible. In fact, it went straight to DVD and can be found on XBLA, if you so wish to purchase it. But believe me, it's awful. Only go in seeing it if you are expecting a poorly done spoof of the original film.
Crap crap crap crap crap save your money.
