I'm currently developing a third tileset of mine. I submitted the first version, but I worked on it to the point where It got larger than I had planned, and by then the Main Site went offline, a tad too late for me to update the actual submitted sheet, so here it is: my New Custom Tileset III!

It's good, but I hate the fact that colored pixels appear outside the black outline. It looks REALLY ugly.

Thanks I was looking for some springs. Does anyone know why this site only has small sprites and small tilesets? My game uses 4x bigger tilesets then all the one's I see here.

Uhm....what? The sprites are small because they're meant to be small. I've seen only a few games with 64x64 tiles. Most are like 16x16 because that's normal.

  • If those things at the upper left are supposed to be small pipes, they honestly don't look like them, mainly because the rims on these are the same width as the rest of the pipes, and pipe rims are usually thicker than that too.
  • The regular-sized pipes have shading that doesn't make sense. The shading they have now doesn't look like it would appear on any real shape, much less on a cylinder. I would suggest doing what is done on official pipe sprites and making thin vertical lines of gradually changing shades along the pipes. That would make them more cylindrical-looking.
  • The giant ? and ! blocks have the symbols up too far on them, and the dots at the bottoms of the symbols are too big.
  • Some things have conflicting light sources (for example, the vase versus the hill-type things with eyes).
  • The skull is kind of far up on the skull switch.
  • The spots on the egg blocks are oddly placed and in some cases oddly shaped.

There are other things too, mainly involving odd shading, but this isn't meant to be an exhaustive list.
