Sprite Comp #132- Mario Map Screens, yeah that's right

well every game does have a generic world based on greenland, ya know

There is way too much 0x00FF00 in here. :(

That said I suddenly feel like making one~

Phew, I'm done. I love this competition. I had great fun making this.

I completly redid the paths. I'll make a mockup soon.

not 100% but i probobly won't work on it for a bit.

Here's mine. DRAMATIC CHANGE ALERT!!!!! I made it so there are only ground textures, added more GTs, and went to the SMB3 styled level icons. Putting them all at junctions drove me nuts. And yes, they're from scratch.

Funky, you just dashed my hopes of victory...

I have to agree with you there. And I looked at yours closer funky, way too much pillow shading...

OrangeNova, I think you should make a matching Mario sprite for that map. It's simple isometric, yet so satisfying...

That is NOT pillow shading!

Honestly! You look at one thing, and you say "pillow shading!"

That IS NOT pillow shading.

Pillow shading:

If you were to shade it inward, and it gets progressively lighter inside, that's Pillow Shading.

His light source seems to come from the upper right, so I wouldn't say pillow shading. Though that bush needs a bit of work.

And no, it's not pillowed, it just got "pillowy" shading on the road cuz I wanted to make it look like it got depth...

Make the Mario and Luigi sprites with a bit more....motion...maybe?

The hands have NO arms making it look like he's just moving his hands like he's boggying down :P

So yeah, add someform of arms.
