We all have one of these: games that got a lukewarm (or worse) reception that you still enjoyed the hell out of. Pick one of them and make your case for it. Don't just say "TF2 is still underrated because it is win" or something copout like that, seriously think about this.

Mine is Prey.
For some reason, Prey always gets a **** treatment for being unoriginal, boring, gimmicky, short, shallow, or whatever other tag people throw on there. The game is basically the equivalent of a Michael Bay movie: visually stunning, crazy-thrilling, and incredibly short.
The game relies primarily on portal and gravity gimmicks, but the game doesn't get boring because they work. Even though portals have been done (better?) since Prey came out, no one has used them for gravity-bending or integrated them into level design yet. There's a maze at one point later on in the game that's pretty close to the endless stairs from Mario 64, and that's really fun.
The plot isn't too bad either. It's not an incredibly complicated storyline, but it's unique (Native American culture!) and sets up some really cool setpieces, particularly a massive battle later on in the mystical Land of the Ancients. There's also a couple cool features like Spirit Walking that don't get flesh out too much, but they're nice additions that break up the shooting a bit.
It's a shame that people say Prey is weak or boring because it isn't Half-Life 2. It doesn't have to be. It's short, fast, and an exciting ride.

Your turn, go.
