Super Mario Brothers All-Star Quest, 9/16/08: getting up to speed

9/16/08: The game's been seeing a lot of changes both big and small, but the main quest is almost complete. I should go ahead and say right now that this project will always be a work in progress until I finally say enough is enough. I stated earlier that I would try to release something before August, but now I'm going to hold out until NCFC 2008. I've still got the sprite request below and I hope you guys can hold off a little longer..

REQUEST: Battle with Bowser will take place on the ship below. However, the ship needs a sail. If someone would like to make a sail for me (with a nifty Bowser logo in the middle) go ahead and use the ship as a reference and pm me the result. Greatly appreciated, muchos credit given.

I thought this game was already finished, for some reason. Interesting to find that there's more to come.


I probably should have mentioned this long ago, but in the version I originally played, there was some sort of error that kept happening over and over during the battle with
Spoilers:

that Magikoopa boss (maybe a skeleton Magikoopa? I forget).

It was probably a coding-related error, but it was so long ago that my memory is fuzzy. If I recall, it made me have to restart the game from the last save, though I forget why.

If this hasn't been fixed already, maybe it would be a good idea to debug that battle again.

That gradient BG in the second picture doesn't look so good...

When we can see the final release?

Oh yes, BTW, when you go into the hotel room, where you get Mario's badge.
You can't leave.

Resting is what lets you leave, I'll change it though, and there should be about 7 boss fights total, one being a bonus.

How do you rest? Just do nothing?

You have to press the C button near the bed.

Finaly!!!! I am so happy right now. This is my favourite fangame, and I thought you were done with it and your not. This is great news! I can't wait till the final release.

I don't know about costumes and swimming, but there is a big surprise I've got waiting.

Cool. This was one of the first games at MFGG I downloaded. I liked it a lot too. Better than almost anything there. Although I do recall that every time I tried to load my game, it took me to the save screen instead. Please fix that if you haven't already.

I´m so glad to hear this is alive!Still I think I found a massive glitch.Before the battle with skeleton Kamek,outside the boss room there are those barrels that shoot you out after you jump in.Keep jumping out of it(in the air also move to the left and right,but keep landing in the barrel)and somewhen you´ll be taken to a bridge where you come to a castle,go in it and the platform in it will start moving up,but even if it goes outside the room still nothing would happen.
