Do your parents support you making fangames?, Question

In conclusion basically, your parents and others are there to support whatever you are doing, and they shouldn't put you down.

Something like this.

My Mom´s happy when I´m on my games,because then I can´t annoy her.(/Joke)
Too bad she doesn´t understand anything if I try to tell her what I´m making,she says she doesn´t want to know how it works,I´d just show her.Only thing is I shouldn´t get her as beta tester if I make platformers,because she really sucks at it.
My father is(kind of) not existing for me,because I really hate him(I´m really happy that he doesn´t live at our house),so we´ll leave him out.

My father is a drug addict and we havent had any contact with him in years, so I'll just leave him out of this.

Well when I used to do it they didn't even know about it.

My family thinks I'm into games too much (including fangames -- BOTH gameplay and production wise). I'd rather do my work when I'm alone and don't have to be annoyed by them.

My dad doesn't care.

My mom's sceptical about it, she once saw me inputting some GML code and was like "Heh, that's why you don't have a girlfriend"

She has to learn that not all girls are the same (stupid fancy pants type).

Go figure.

My mom hates computers (but certainly thinks that my way of using it is one of the best and thus has no problem with it, but I can't really talk to her about my projects) and my dad supported me in the beginning with some logic stuff for my first projects.
These days I still show my programs and games to my dad and he likes them.
I've recently started to learn Java, so my game creation thing seems to take me somewhere.
EDIT: what am I talking "in the beginning"? I'm still discussing many programming problems with my dad, probably I'd not made the same fangames without these discussions. Thanks dad if you ever read this topic which will never ever happen. haha.

Somewhat the biggest "breakthrough" from MFGG to my real life was when I won the NCFC MGC and told my parents, they were all proud and told my other relatives. DJ Yoshiman, if you're reading this, they're also waiting for the Mario plushie!

My parents are totally swell with it; to be honest I don't really think they really care that much but at least they seem to appreciate the fact that not all I do on a computer is non-productive!


I gotta admit though, when they first heard about it they were like whoa you make games?!

I don't make any but my dad's all "those guys there want something attracting little 12 year olds!"

My parents know I make them, but can't really comprehend it all. And I think I've got my 10 year old cousin hooked on game making; we spent time one afternoon making outrageous levels for my scrapped projects.

Why would I tell my parents what I do on the computer?
